Damn , I didnt think of that, I'll try and get some tomorrow. I finished fabing up my replacement steam pipe. I may re do it. I forgot what a pain in the keester bending tubing is. I already have a better idea on how to re run the steam tube. I always have to see it before I can finalize it. I bent it around the egr valve and I didnt realize until afterwards I am deleting the egr.... duh!
Heads are cleaned up , new lifters are in. Still need to clean the intake and throttle body. Headers should be here tomorrow so I will drop those in place before I put the heads back on.

Where did you find those!? Those are stainless pacesetter knockoffs! Pretty much the best header you can get and I havent seen them in production for a couple years, i just bought a used set earlier this summer!
edit: you wont have the fitament issues with these ones

Tahts music to my ears. I found them on Fleabay. I have a habit of following links that show up as suggested items when I am looking at different items and they showed up at the bottom of a page. There were other sets in my watch list from the same store but they were a higher price. I paid $349.00 ,with the Y pipe. Nothing else came close.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View Post

He had a cat back with a bullet muffler that was $180.00 on sale. but he is here in Mi. so I would have had to pay tax and he wanted 40 for shipping. I almost pulled the trigger but then I reminded myself that I may want to go true duels at some point and the cat back on my car is pretty new so. I saved myself a few pesos. But it wasnt easy, all stainless exhaust, tail pipes included....... schweet.
Hes in troy. His ebay store is merchant sellers.

Superman09 if you want to sell a header for the LT1 these are the ones you want to get a line on. Apparently they are still being produced somewhere since they are on ebay again, i havent seen them in a while.-Joel

I have them bolted on, the drivers side is a bit close to the frame, like 1/4 inch away, and it actually rubs on the steering shafts plastic cover, so that'll have to go. The pas side, the bolt alignment was a bit off, couple of the bolts were a little reluctant to spin. That bugger is close to the shock tower, I had to reroute my wiring harness to go around the back of the head. I need to make up a keeper for that. Otherwise, they're on!
I still have to extend my o2 wiring harnesses, and install them. Then I can install the Y pipe. I just need to finish the rest of the engine repairs I have been working on. canr wait to hear it.

If you saw how the "other" ebay headers fit, you'd quickly see that these issues are a drop in the bucket in comparison. I literally had to beat the hell out of every set i installed with sledgehammer... in multiple places. and sometimes even use a grinding wheel on the car.Originally posted by zeeman View PostI have them bolted on, the drivers side is a bit close to the frame, like 1/4 inch away, and it actually rubs on the steering shafts plastic cover, so that'll have to go. Uhggg! That makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it! I will post pics soon, but I am working on a write up on converting my opti to a vented unit. Well actually on venting my non vented unit would be more accurate.
Ill load some engine compartment pics here in a bit.
And as always thanks for all the help.

Whats the clearance of the driver side collector to the floor board? A lot of times they will hit there when the engine twists under torque on the engine mounts.-Joel
