It sounds like the MAP is still not right. The MAP should go up as the load on the engine goes up and should drop as the load goes down. If your BAR is 17.65 and MAP is 3.25 then your vacuum is 14.4 which is about where mine idles... I know LS1s and LT1s are totally different beasts, though. What makes me more worried is the BAR going psycho. The elevation of Muskegon is about 650 feet above sea level so that means that your BAR should be reading right around 29 HGs. Your MAP sensor is what reads BAR when the key is on but the ignition is off so if it's fluctuating THAT much - to me it sounds like the MAP is still not right. BAR should never fluctuate unless you're taking a reading in two totally different storm fronts or something. MAP should always be about 1/3rd of BAR in a stock engine - modified, not sure. We're giving it an hour for my mini9 to charge and then Angie and I are going to go datalogging on my car. I want to compare the values that you're talking about with the values that I get. We'll see what the differences are... obviously an LS1 is different than an LT1 but it shouldn't be THAT different IMO? BAR should be BAR, MAP should still be MAP, etc.
