the heater core is differnt from an evaporator. If you removed the AC system you still have heat and defrost.

Dunno - from my experience driving home during a rain storm that turned into hail it wasn't fun. Granted you're not going to get caught in bad weather most of the time

Not entirely. Te defrost uses the AC to "dry" the air. But you can still have heat to help

this. If it's humid out, you're just sucking in humid air and blasting into the car, defrost won't help.

Heat will help, but not like defrost with working a/c. You a/c compressor comes on whenever its on defrost, even in the winter to dry the air. (im sure most of you know that) So I do see Brians point. But my 84 has no HVAC and iv been trapped in the rain when its humid, and it fogs up a little but nothing to bad, and its still worth not having heat as I would NEVER use it. A bad heater core will also make it fog up 100 times worse.

Only time I would remove A/C and/or heat is if I ONLY ran car to and from and on the track.

I am removing the A/C and planning on Keeping my heat. I am going to try to get it as flat to the firewall as possible i am going to use a dremel to cut the box so it is going to take some time. The reason i am doing it is because i never use my A/C so its a waste to have it plus i am trying to save as much weight as i can. Plus me having giant ape hands it well give me more room to install my headers and change my plugs. Also cleaner is all ways better....

Remember you need to cut out a passage for the blower to move the air to. There are a few pictures in the links I sent you.
