What about the front control arms are they the same? I may want to just run my lt arms for now until I can dredge up enough funding for some good rotors and pads. My Lt stops way better than this LS in its current condition. Maybe just swap out the spindles? Im not sure on where the changes are
spindle, caliper, rotors should all swap from your LT to the LS or vise versa, hubs are the same.

Spindles are specific to the calipers.

Soon Mike, soon. I have to finish the lt swap into 94 Formys Bird first. Then the donor will get gutted. I have to figure out how much of the donor wiring I need to use, where the lt stuff can stay and what I need to replace with the LS stuff. I want everything to function, alarm, remote, all that junk. It looks like I am going to be using the new dash and all the wiring and controls.
Traction control, do I have to move that over too? Its on the donor, where is it on the car? physically?

I still dont know what front end I am going to use. Keep the lt front end and cut the inside of the cowl hood to fit the slp lid or swap the entire clip over to the '98 and try to find a ss (yawn) hood. I dont really want to cut up the hood but I gotsta dew what I gotsta dew.

It's easy to modify the lt1 body harnesses to work with the ls1 engine harness. Some pins will be to moved in the c220 and c230 connectors. You will need the k member/ rack and pinion/ steering shaft from the other car. If you use the Trans from
thr ls1 car you will have to modifiy your stock Trans crossmember bracket as the ls1 car crossmember will not bolt in a lt1 car. You could use all the ls1 car wire harness. But in my opionion it's a lot easier to use the lt1 body harness.

What needs to be modified on the cross member. Im just going to swap harnesses and run the newer dash and column.

i had planned on doing that, running a pipe out the OEM location and just putting a filter down in the bumper, but i then got schooled on how much better a lid/scoop setup flows than a pipe so i went that route. i got an insane deal on my lid setup so i did that, i probably should be facing charges for it it was so good lol.

Curious why you think this? I've never once had a problem with my LT1 e-brake, and LT1 e-brakes don't get in the way of LCA relocation brackets either.

ok, here are some pics. first one is formys bird. 2nd engine removal out the top.

engine donation center, lt-1 out, going into formys bird. This was kinda hairy, my neighbors were watching , its the sub garage sale this weekend. We got a lot of loooks

Ill clean up the engine bay before I do the transplanting. I also have to clean up the new engine before it goes in. Its covered in smog control crap and filth. Cant have that in my car.

I think for now I am going to run my lt 1 brakes, I dont see any extra benifit from throwing away a good set of brakes that I just rebuilt .They work just fine.
