Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

06-09 Impala SS, 05-08 Grand Prix GXP, 06-08 Monte Carlo SS, all came factory with 243 casting heads on the LS4 5.3's. I would imagine you could find one wrecked and get the heads pretty cheap because most people dont know they came with those heads.
im excited to move on to bigger and better things. spring is coming fast. im hoping the ls2 will be just what the doctor ordered. im praying i have no issues with this setup. i just want to be able to drive my car this summer. ill even keep it off the track if need be. picking it up next weekend and cant wait to get started putting it together.
Sell your ls6 intake for a ls3 intake. I will make you brackets to adapt your stock ls1 rails on the ls3 intake if you need. Than find some used l92/ls3 heads and get 8 ls3 intake rocker arms and trays for both heads. You wont be disappointed. It will shroud the valves a little they say but for the top end power you will get you will never look back. If it is done right and with a little luck it will not be that expensive.
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...s/viewall.html - Dont take my word for it either. Look at torque under the curve compared to the ls2 heads. There is nowhere that the cathedral out performs the square port period. I firmly beleive all the shit regarding square ports killing low end power/under curve/valve shrouding killing power is just myth. I have yet to see a set of these not perform on any application. Not saying there arent better options available but for the price you cannot go wrong.
That is just my $.02 I would use the 4" bore to your advantage, either way I am glad to see you got a new motor I am sure it will scream either way. Good luck.
I wonder why they wont rev. I have seen these make alot of power cam only as well as h/c. Off topic but what about under boost? These big runners move air under pressure no doubt. I am not disagreeing with what you are saying but I have seen these motors run hard. Do you think the cases Phil ran into were mis matched parts or another reason why they would not rev. I have heard that they are picky on cams as well. Cathedral cams do not work worth a shit on these heads. (so I have heard but I dont know why somebody wouldnt match a cam in the first place)

they require cams with a big split because the intake to exhaust ratio absolutely sucks. the intake runner is also so large that velocity is an issue . cause drivabilty and low torque down low
Are you talking split on lobe seperation or split on the duration of the intake to exhaust? The cam I ran has a way larger exhaust duration than intake duration on a high lsa with -4 degrees negative overlap. I figured that was the logic behind the spec. Hold the intake valve back a little bit to keep the air moving not kill all velocity while getting exhaust out as fast as possible.
It makes sense that they would suck balls down low but I still see good results for God only knows why. My car feels solid down low as well without any boost whatsoever on it. Although there is no down low comparison to what I had before with my old 250cc cathedrals lmao. The car did not run below 4500

My father still has his LS3 short block (crank rods pistons block) with the heads and valve train that came out of a Vette still sitting at his shop in Fraser on a pallet. It fully assembled and turns over by hand. The valve cover was popped to confirm it was an LS3 valve train. All you need is the intake, tb, injectors, computer, harness accessories and brackets. He always said if someone offered him what he got it for he would take it. I'm not sure what your budget is or how deep you are with this LS2, just figured I would give you more options. Sorry about your bad luck with the LS1, that sucks bad.
