Easy way to make sure it's a 94 LT1 is to look at the intake manifold. On 93 there was no metal tube cross over in the front of the fuel rails. On 94-97, there's a metal tube that connects the fuel rails right at the front of the intake manifold.

plus is there a mass air flow in the air intake set up 93 didnt have it while 94 up does.

Yea good point - that'd probably be the most noticeable and easiest different to see.

Well then it's definitely at least a 94 engine.

You can also tell exactly what year the engine is from a VIN derivative right above the oil filter on the rear of the block and it's also on the transmission right next to the oil filter.
Q = 1993, R = 1994, S = 1995, T = 1996, U = 1997.
