Easy way to make sure it's a 94 LT1 is to look at the intake manifold. On 93 there was no metal tube cross over in the front of the fuel rails. On 94-97, there's a metal tube that connects the fuel rails right at the front of the intake manifold.

Well then it's definitely at least a 94 engine.
You can also tell exactly what year the engine is from a VIN derivative right above the oil filter on the rear of the block and it's also on the transmission right next to the oil filter.
