v6 lt1 swap

i have a 1994 3.4l v6 camaro that has a real good body but my motor went bad. I know where i can pick up a cheap 1993 Z28 that is crashed. What all would i need to change to make the swap happen. I have heard lots of different thing about the dash harness can somebody please help me out.

its simple... trans needs to be changed, computer, wireing,, the front engine cradle and radiator. that should do it. but dont forget the engine. its really not hard, me and 2 guys did my swap in two days.

Yup, not too much as long as you don't go overboard like I did.

Engine, radiator, radiator fans, heater hoses, trans, engine cradle, drive shaft, engine harness, computer. Rear end isn't really a must, you'll just have a low gear and an open diff. Honestly, if you could get a 1994 LT1 engine that'd be the best - the 93 is so different than the 94 which is different than the 95 which is different than the 96-97. Mild differences, but still.

93 to mod the motor you have to pull a chip to burn it, 94 and up you can program them going down the road, wish i could, 94 car 93 motor 85 trans 79 rear end.

The 93 z28 i found i can pick up for $1300 with a cracked fender and a smashed up quarter panel. Does anyone know of 94 z28 i could pick up that cheap because i would rather do that and if not what are the difference between the 93 and the 94.

Theres a smashed up z28 on craigslist right now I believe for like 800? If the motor is still there you could just do the directed swap and use some parts as needed

rhe dif from 93 to the rest, 93 is one wire oz seser, and computer, other than than somthing with opti the rest al interchanges.

93 also does not have a MAF, the fuel rails do not have the cross over at the front of the intake manifold, the PCV system is different than in 95, etc. From a swap standpoint, yeah as long as you have the matching harness and computer no big deal I guess.

If you can get the 93 for that or less its not a bad deal. How many miles on it and does it run good? If so, you have everything you need. Kframe with suspension, trans, drive shaft, and rear end, computer, wire harness. The biggest reason most are negative towards 93, 94's is the Optispark, its not vented and were prone to fail at a higher rate. 95 through 97 were vented and better. 98 and up ar LS1's

it has 144,000 miles but i would change all the bearing, rings and gaskets on it. The guy told me it ran good but he didnt have battery so i didnt hear the car run but i would make sure that it did before i bought it.
