Found out yesterday that the cylinder wall is cracked so the block is junk. Looks like I will be buying a new block as well

Phil has a 2000 shortblock asm. with 40K for $500 I'm gonna buy it and see what happens, if I catch some good deals it will be torn apart and forged, if not we'll run it for a while and upgrade elsewhere

dang thats awsome jeff what a steal!

my buddy tim was saying TSP (texas speed) quoted him for a forged 383 assembly with i believe upgraded rods and pistons with arp main studs and head studs for 1900

so im sure you could get a 346 setup for alot cheaper since u'd be useing your stock crank

                    I would stay away from a 383. A 402 is a much better option

Yep I'll have to give them a call Russ. I would imagine that crank covers a big chuink of that cost and all, now just gotta get some cash for my birthday
