    370 won't hurt a 12. Now 600 leaving on the limiter with 28's...

      9" with a Truetrac - you won't hurt it. I haven't hurt mine yet.

Gear noise - maybe a little, if the gears are setup and broke in properly then it's minimal. Parts are cheap and plentiful, want to change gears - it's under $200 for quality gears and an install kit.

Joel - you'd laugh if you saw the pile of timeslips I have it's insane. I'd say I have over 600 passes on my 9" and I've only broke a wheel stud, and strange had one to me the next day.

Power loss - it's there, on the street you'll never see it, at the track you might be down 1-2 mph. IMO it's worth the loss to never worry about it again. It's the best purchase I've made for my car.

S60 and 12bolts are nice, but gear changes aren't as simple and the cost difference is nominal.

If you go the 9" route I have a strange chromoly drive shaft and some billet yokes that I'd make you a deal on to save you some $$.

Jeremy, is your true trac a detroit or eaton? Ive read a lot of complaints with the revised 9" true trac ever since eaton took over. Prior to that it sounds like they were great.

Both of my clutch posi's have been perfect out of the gate. I have been really happy with them.
As long as the gears are set-up correctly, the noise will be minimal, but they will still make noise. Anyone who tells you their 9" gears are dead quiet, they are lying or have really bad hearing. My current set are high end gears with a text book perfect set-up and pattern. They still make a little whine from 45-60mph.

Just remember the tapered bearings...that is defiantly what you will want for longevity!!

the S60's are cast with the torque arm mounts. that is a plus in my book compared to the bolt on ones for the 9" or 12 bolt. Being an old Mopar guy and familiar with the Dana60 rears, I personally would get an S60 any day.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Yes ive read about that and definitely plan on using those. Im still not sure if this affects the center section, as far as c clips or eliminators... How is a 9" / s60 typically setup in that regard?

Backing plate holds it in... bearing Is pressed on and retained by a wedding ring. No c clips.
