I know that the torque arm is what needs to be fixed but that requires moving the gas lines and the exhaust... Aka not that easy. But looks like what im going to have to do.Originally posted by Nocooler View PostIf the torque arm is moving around - fix that 1st.....then worry about the drive shaft.
Either get a poly bushing for it or if you can get it off the tail shaft.-Joel

No use killing another d/s man. Maybe just stick a new bushing in it now - and worry about the relocation later.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostI know that the torque arm is what needs to be fixed but that requires moving the gas lines and the exhaust... Yea apparently i have too many HP's or something
If anyone does have a stock torque arm i can borrow that would be helpful! I do plan on fixing this the right way, im just looking at doing an extra project at the same time which might require more moneys

Do you 100% have to move the fuel lines or are they just too close to a heat source?- Brian Meissen

In order for me to move the driver side muffler the necessary inch and a half out of the way, the fuel filter is going to have to be relocated. Also the lines are rubbing on the aftermarket torque arm in the tunnel and they are closer to the muffler than id prefer. All in all.. They are just really in the way of things.Originally posted by meissen View PostDo you 100% have to move the fuel lines or are they just too close to a heat source?-Joel

Just want to extend a huge THANK YOU to mifbody. I could have been buried in stock torque arms and drive shafts with all the offers I have gotten here so far. Seriously, you guys are a huge help.
I picked up a fresh stock torque arm from Jeff this afternoon and that seemed to have made just as significant of an improvement as the 180 flip! Id have to say that slop in the bolt holes was definitely what killed the last set of u-joints, despite my driving style. It still seems like I am getting some mildly scary shake at the top of 3rd gear (~90 mph), but I noticed as soon as i let out and stab the clutch, even at that speed ... its completely smooth. Maybe I am just putting that much stress on it at 5000 rpm that the pinion angle is still somewhat being thrown off? Or I'm just paranoid now that something happened? I put it through its paces pretty good at woodward in 1st and second gear, and it drove just like it always used to! I could never notice any difference at woodward speeds.
Also, if I don't end up need the driveshaft Ryan gave me I will be donating it to whoever needs/wants it just as he donated to me.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; May 12th, 2012, 12:37 AM.-Joel
