As long as he doesn't see that rat more than once a year he doesn't have a problem with it!

                    Balance Engineering in Troy

I've had my S10 drive shaft done twice there (they're known to have issues and throw themselves out of balance). But it's expensive. Probably cheaper to just buy a used one.

So tried the drive shaft flip today. It helped significantly. I can drive the car around now at least. But, I don't think it should be left this way. On the highway, i did a quick test and i dont trust it any higher than 90.

Also, while driving it around today, I noticed the vibration increasing under hard acceleration... and ... the part that really got me thinking... over bumps and deceleration. This leads me to conclude my crappy, worn-out, stock torque arm is the item responsible for causing the u-joint to let go. The pinion angle seems to be going all over the place as it pleases. while engine braking from a higher speed like i was doing it no doubt was probably put the u-joint in a position to go kablooey (technical term).

I'm not sure to do with it right now. It will probably eventually come apart again if i keep driving it. Clearly I have a project on my hands. Question: is it possible at all to throw the yoke out of balance? or am i safe to assume my balance issue all within the driveshaft?

Could it be a pinion bearing?

How would I check that? It isnt making any unusual noise.

It will usually make a noise under deceleration and you can move your ds up and down by your hand.

I don't think its possibly to throw a yoke out of balance.
