People have lowered the Kmember more than he wants to to fit maggies in Fbodys and they have made it work.Originally posted by GETGONE View PostSpacers on the K member are going to throw off the alignment and raise the front. I'm guessing it will throw off the geometry of the suspension as well since the lower A arms will now be .5" lower and they will have to move up farther to mount to the shock towers. That's probably gonna give you some pretty nasty negative camber.

Got the upper and lower intake onto the old engine to see what kind of room I would really need. You can see now how close it is to the cowl. The stock upper intake lid does not fit at all unless the engine gets lowered or if I make a sheetmetal lid out of some aluminum stock. I had to turn the alternator bracket counterclockwise for the intakes to fit, it looks like I can grind our stock bracket enough for it to sit level, but then I have to figure out how to get the coolant holes to line up from the intake to the bracket. Enough talk, here are the pics:
And for those FI lovers out there, check out all those lovely room in front of our engines now for a turbo or sc.

thanks guys, and I think the holden intakes might be lighter too, I could possibly see some weight off the nose from these, lol. I need to weigh the stockers and the holdens and see for sure though------------------------------------------

That is a beautiful site bro. I love the intake btw. Where did you get the idea to put a holden intake on an fbody?

a few guys in the past have talked about it but never went through with getting it. I decided to go for it and give it a shot in an effort to push the 3.8 world into a new direction for modding and power. These intakes work great for direct port nitrous setups and FI setups as they give room for tapping and room in the front for turbos.
Plus longer runners could lead to better torque curves and power. We will see what happens------------------------------------------

I'm not an engineer or even know what makes an intake flow better, but it looks like the lower intake would be pretty efficient. However, the top intake, does it just push air into the "box" area then it gets pulled into the lower?
did you look into seeing if there is any aftermarket upper intakes for holden? I dont know it just seems like the upper intake could be more efficient?
but like i said, i know nothing anyways

there are a couple aftermarket upper intakes for the holden, but at 1500 bucks I am going to pass. One of them is a dual tb setup which is pretty sharp. My main concern is just getting it to work on the fbody first------------------------------------------

Rear seat delete is now done and I am going to finish wiring the bottle heaters and put it in the car. I am really happy how it turned out, the carpet is a little lighter than the stock stuff which I didn't expect but I am still happy with it. Sorry about the finished pics being on our dock, I didn't think the dock would take over the pic like that.
