I didn't want to dump $400 into a bent piece of steel, so was hoping somebody had a used one. doesn't have to be 6le brand/design1997 Trans Am

6LE charges about double what everything they make is worth, only because no one else competes with them on most of their stuff. I bought mine from Fred here, and I don't think he'll ever forgive me for what I bartered him down to

I'd also like to get one of their splitters but im not willing to pay even half of what they are charging.-Joel

Schroth makes a DOT approved 3-pt harness that mounts to the oem rear seatbelt mounting point (so you know it's not going to rip out) that's what I'm using because I plan on cutting the roll bar that my car came with out.sigpic

The 6LE bar mounts to the rear seat belt mounts, so youre good with that one too as long as you dont plan on anyone sitting back there... Probably shouldnt with a bar for their head to slam into anyway.-Joel

I'll see if I can dig up the article later tonight. In an issue of Camaro Performers, they installed one on their Camaro. Black Betty.. IIRC the price wasn't to bad either.
Agreed on the 6LE stuff. Ridiculously priced

Maybe Superman09 would be willing to take on a special project. He's got the ability to do full exhausts so I think he can do the mandrel bends in tubing... I know it's not the same thing but it's worth a shot.Originally posted by QuickTop View PostNobody will be in the back there's no seats back there anyway. I like the purpose of the harness bar and don't need a roll cage. So if nobody has a used one it looks like I'll just have to cough up the cash..- Brian Meissen

I would be shocked if Johnny had a manual pipe bender.Originally posted by meissen View PostHe's got the ability to do full exhausts so I think he can do the mandrel bends in tubing.
Most people who build mandrel exhaust buy the bends in bulk and assemble the exhaust. A mandrel bender is big money $40,000+
