LQ4/9's bring over a grand and have 100K+ on them. I think your lucky if you can find one for under a grand.

we bought an LQ9 for 400 bucks with 120 on it no tranny, intake to oil pan a few accs, so yes they are out there, just gotta look and be quick

People have caught on to the 6.0L now. All that I have seen online are going for $800 + depending on miles.


Id love a to build a high reving 4.8 or even a 5.3 with 6lbs of boost through an ebay turbo.

6psi is nothing for those stock 4.8's and 5.3's.

There are guys on tech and GMHTP throwing 20PSI+ at those stock shortblocks and going very fast. They seem to last a long time when in the hands of someone that knows what there doing also.

by no means am i trying to brag. but i run across 5.3/trans combos pretty offen cheap. along with 6.0l/trans combos. trick is have money in hand and dont waste time getting to them. if your serious when your looking you have to drop everything your doing and run. im yet to pay over $500 for any ls based setup. i will keep my eyes open....

Yes. Stock rods, Stock pistons, and Stock crank. All as came from GM.

The stock shortblock LSx record is actually held by an aluminum 5.3. 8.65@167
