I have one that came out of my 1989 Camaro so I know the tail is different because of the torque arm mount. Length might be the same though. Mileage unknown, but it has been rebuilt and worked flawlessly. Fluid was perfect when I dropped the pan. I installed a TransGo SK 700-Jr kit, Corvette servo, .471 boost valve, .296 reverse boost valve, and I'm pretty sure I put in a new filter before I bolted it back together It hasn't been run since I did the work because I found a WC T5 right after. I did remove the TPI TV cable to put on my truck, but I put a TBI cable in it's place It has a cable drive setup on it, but can be changed to electronic to work with the truck.

    $250?

It's actually really easy to do, I could type you through it step by step. I just realized you are on the other side of the state though. That's a hike for a transmission, and you could probably find a rebuilt one for cheap over there (it seems all the good cheap parts are over there)

Let's verify tail lengths before any driving is done! I will be in the garage tomorrow and I'll get a measurement.

also, 700r4 are probably one of the easiest trans to rebuild, not to take a sale away from Mike, I was just letting you could rebuild it as well.

Not too hard to do, but with a rebuild kit and the cost of parts I put in...you're probably looking at ~$250

which is 2wd and 4wd. i dont think it matters because weve put numerous tramissions in my friends truck some from long bed, shortbed, then he went to 4l60e and we got one out of an astro. if there is a difference it didnt occur to us and it didnt cause any issues

My understanding was that long beds or ext. cabs were long tail and standard cab, short beds, etc were short tail... im nowhere near a trans expert though haha. ive pulled em and replaced em but never been inside of one so idk how id feel about a rebuild...
