Exhaust are like woman. Some are louder than others and there are many different styles, sizes, and many people like one more then the other.

IMO pick out an exhaust system you like and save your money.

    on the cheap...
You could stright pipe the muffler or install chambered mufflers.
I have two 2.5 chambers muffler for $20.

            I wouldn't recommend MagnaFlow!
I have been getting the run around from them for the last 3 weeks on a set of mufflers that came apart on my Camaro.
I bought a stainless steel exhaust system from them a few years ago for $500. The system supposedly has a lifetime warranty on it and both mufflers failed after only 2500 miles.
They won't help me out with replacement parts because the place I bought the system from went out of business (Detroit Speed Shop).
They said I have to buy an entire new exhaust System and then take the system back to were I bought it from and get my money back.

I went out and bought some new Flowmaster mufflers yesterday.
I will be installing them this week.

            DONT BUY FROM MAGNAFLOW !!!

Wow - sorry to hear you're going through all that. I absolutely LOVE my Magnaflow exhaust system on my car. I've had it since 2004-2005 with absolutely no problems at all. I'd highly recommend Magnaflow over doesn'tflow-masters.

I have talked to 3 different people at Magnaflow and have been getting nothing but the run around.
I just don't want anybody else to have to go though the pain that I have been dealing with.
I love the the rest of the system, but to have both mufflers fail on a 300hp engine with less than 2500miles is crazy!
I had good luck with Flowmaster on my SUV so I am going back to them.

There's the differences. I've loved the flowmasters on my '79. Really took out the lag that the dynomax put into it. On the other hand, the dynomax dual outlet has done really well by my little 3800. There are quite a few choices on the Summit site, if you browse by engine size. i guess there's now a muffler with a valve that opens a straight-thru design when the pressure gets to certain amount, but closes into a regular muffler when cruising. Whole idea seems crazy, but I've seen it. I believe Walker makes that one also.

That's only the dual-outlet one for Fbodies. Their other mufflers are fantastic.
