We would have to take a look at the car first. Also, Mike will have to look into the cost of the other components to make the lights flash, and would require a switch panel also.Originally posted by BP_Z28 View PostHoping to get good news next week so I can get this Antonio's camaro to you guys. I think what Akodo would tell you is that the project was predicated on 1). him staying with his job at the time, with access to a lab and materials, and 2). Nick staying local.
Since this project was first proposed, Mike changed jobs and companies, and Nick has moved to the Westside of the state.
I should let Akodo answer for certain, but I think that your best bet would be to ask others here at MiFBody what they have done on their cars. I went ahead and changed over all my interior and exterior lighting excecpt for the instrument panel (gauge cluster, steering wheel switches, radio, A/C controls, console, etc.); I only switched out the courtesy lighting in the quarter panels, and Mike built the LEDs that are in the bottom of my rear view mirror. There are a number of different sources out there for direct replacement of LEDs; I basically bought everything from SuperBright LEDs.com, and if you browse their site and navigate away, Google ads should give you a coupon for 15% off a purchase. I'm not sure what to tell you about doing anything truly custom, though...

I would agree with Kevin. . . Mike is in a new position in a new company, and doesn't have his "Lab" set up at home yet, so I don't think he's going to be working on anything like that until he gets a new place with some extra room. I *may* be moving back to the East side soon, but that isn't going to accomplish much in the way of re-invigorating this project.

Absolutely right, Kevin and Nick. I DO still have most of the equipment, and a ton of parts, but most of it is boxed up at the moment. Hopefully, once I get the idiots at the credit reporting agencies to remove their craniums from their sphincters, I will be able to set my own lab up and start making things again. I still owe Nick a few lights, and I need to fix Kevins (tune them down, too bright.)

Ever get back to doing this Akodo? Was thinking about changing all of the red lighting to Gold or Amber. (pewter car) Can't think of a color that would look good in there besides that. And then the White led for the map lights and the rear dome. Maybe a couple strips of gold for the floor boards too.. Not sure the difficulty of this as far as doing it myself.. Im MECP certified but i've never done anything like this.. just curious if you're still doing this and how much it would be. Not 100% sure yet but just wonderingsigpic
