  • 1999 Trans-Am NBM $4000 firm

The car is mechanically sound, but it needs a paint job. 113,000 miles. This car is my daily driver from spring to fall and I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere.

    The good:
    - Transmission is rock solid, still chirps on 1-2 shift.
    - Runs great. Shortblock was dealer replaced at 40,000 miles. Rock solid oil pressure.
    - Tires are good. Fronts probably have one more summer in them, rears have two or more.
    - Holly open air cleaner kit.
    - New water pump and radiator.
    - New heater core.
    - Rear suspension all replaced in last two years with aftermarket parts.
    - Stock rear end was rebuilt this summer (still a 3.23).
    - Brakes replaced in last two years.
    - Main front to rear brake lines replaced.
    - Flowmaster muffler. Factory y-pipe was replaced by a muffler shop. Yes it drones on the highway, but sounds awesome around town.
    - Driver's side window motor was replaced last summer.
    - Car still averages 19-20 mpg in daily driving around town.
    - I was told it has a Livernois tune. I can't confirm, but it definitely has a tune.
    - Stock stereo plays fine, CD's do not skip.

    The bad:
    - Stereo display is intermittent. This is a common issue, I just haven't had time to get the thing re-soldered.
    - Paint is rough. Really faded bad behind the t-tops on the hoop.
    - Two small dings on the passenger quarter. A few small scratches here and there. No major dents, though.
    - Driver door was backed into and cracked. I have a replacement door that is not installed.
    - Carpet and interior are a bit rough.
    - It currently has cloth seats. I still have the factory leather seats but I replaced them because driver side has the normal rips.
    - Air conditioning is ready to charge but is not charged. I replaced all the components, seals, and lines this summer.

I am not taking a penny less than $4000 for this so don't bother asking. The big to do's on this car are the door, seats, and paint - nothing that would prevent it from being fun, reliable transportation. I am selling because I have a project car that has been waiting at a shop for two years and it is starting this winter - I need the cash for that project. (That would be my 81 TTA LS swap if anyone is keeping track).

Shoot me a message or email me at somegeoffguy@yahoo.com.

    Thank you!

    -Geoff

Sold. And I know the price seems low, but I figured if I priced it $5k I would be getting beat down on price like crazy. This way, expectations were low and i would attract the right buyer. The car was never going to be anything but a beater, and with the cracked door, and all the paint issues it wasn't worth the headache to me to argue about it. The guy buying it also showed me where the entire drivers rear quarter had been replaced. So trust me, it was rough.

Good news, too, the guy buying it is putting it in Autorama - minus the body - into a 69 Camaro Convertible. He is doing a 100% wiring swap and even going to try and get the traction control and ABS working. Should be a cool build. Plus, he should have a roller for sale in couple months if anyone is interested in building a stripped out drag car.

Yea, it has been sitting while he has been finishing a frame off LT1 build. That LT1 is finally headed to the paint shop in a couple weeks then I am IN!
