You'll honestly prob be stuck with it through the winter Jake unless you give it away. GLWS though. Pay the ticket though, and offer your dad the extra if insurance goes up. And a little less throttle next time like I told you earlier

Bummer, dude. But like you say, you'll be back in an F-Body eventually. Good luck with everything.

That really sucks ... but I suppose it's what has to happen. Can you have the insurance switched over to your name instead of your dad's name?

If it was a ticket i think under 4 points, you can take a driver improvement course. It takes 4 hours of your time, but it will remove the points from your licence. After that everything will be back to normal.

Honestly if they don't switch insurance policies anytime soon, the insurance agency might not notice it...

                            This^^

I have been the recipient of a few "fastest driver awards" in my day, and I never had an insurance rate increase until I started shopping around for new insurance companies. Stuck with the same company, still paying the same amount as I was, a few discounts for no claims, multi car discount, and a couple incentive discounts when it came time to renew my policy. I'll be switching in March, since I will be getting a bigger discount by switching companies than I will at my current insurance company, but since I've been driving, I've had my own insurance, in my name, with the same company (except for the time I was in the Army, I sold my DD and stored my firebird, cancelled my policy).

Honestly, if you were to go get PL/PD or Liability coverage only, in your name, even with the ticket, you would be looking at anywhere from $50-$150/month, depending on your credit, driving record, vehicle use, age, and any discounts you may qualify for. I would try to stay on your parents as long as you can, but it may be time to switch to your own policy, because once their premiums go up, the companies are hesitant to bring them back to where they were. That's what I'd do anyway, but I've been on my own policy paying ridiculous premiums for about 7 years now, so you may be paying a lot less than I am.
