My trans am has a rebuilt title from hail damage thats it and to get it ready for the road To pass inspection all I did was new windshield and tires and rims and tail light.
now as in to make it look good I been working on that now that I finished the interior in repairs like cracked dash pad and more cracked parts, next is pdr and tires for my y2k rims.
Did the car deserve the salvaged title for hail damage?
No but the previous owners lose is my gain.
You can get at 16k with the right buyer if your not in a rush do not sell it now it will be worth more in the future.
That's crazy over hail damage unreal there's only a few things that normally total a car one the car is smashed to bits and or the cost of the repairs and parts are to high to justify the saving of the car but in alot of cases collector cars and sports cars as we all enjoy the costumer will complain until they total it ive seen this happen many times before at the dealerships because most collectors also sell and buy other cars from time to time and a wreck in most folks eyes is a buzz kill and they will pass on it unless its almost free as we are seeing here . o well maybe I'll be able to keep it i still have a little time left to get things together i just wanted to get it out there .

I really didn't want to start such a controversy i just wanted to get it out there that it's a possibly that i may be forced to sell or part it out depending on the very near future i hope i don't it's one of my dream cars but that's life i suppose . I do no that alot of people have strong feelings on this subject and i kinda expected some of this if things go good I'll be driving it to next years meet and greet i was there this year not sure if to many folks noticed the car Hahaha . One thing i want to do is run it at the LTX shootout i can't make it this year but if i keep it there's alway next year.

know it's crazy how easily a car is salvaged out.
Seriously go check out copart it is ridiculous.
Like I said before, I do have experience selling rebuilt salvaged cars and the only problem was that they was hail damage. (I am keeping the trans am though).
People eats at you bad over the rebuilt title majorly, I always set the price high and slowly brought down the price and if no one bites oh well.

My favorite story about low balling is when I had a 2004 Grand Am GT1 rebuilt title with about 50,000 miles.
It was worth about 8,000 at the time and a guy had the guts to offer 3,500 and I sold the car for way more than that to someone else.
It always happens when the title is rebuilt.

I personally love your car and in a couple more years after 4 generation f-bodies stop decreasing in value, you will not regret holding on to it because your car will be more rare than it already is and will be worth more.
Right now is almost a bad time to sell a 4th gen and is getting worse.

Not to mention that 1997 Firehawk #115 is yours and you know whats been done to it and still smells new.
If you sell it, it's not like selling a firebird or a trans am that there is more than one exactly alike.
It will be very hard to replace down the road.

I have a 69 chevelle Malibu its in a million pieces that i can not and will not sell my uncle gave it to me just before he passed so the firehawk is on the chopping block so to speak i just hope i get some money flowing in this month or next so i can keep it.

            Yeah that was me.
I absolutely loved your car and it is cool that it is a Firehawk Formula and not a Trans Am formula, since Firehawks started out in 1992 as Formula's.

I understand about the chevelle malibu.
Hopefully you can keep it or at least get out of it what you need.
Good luck with the sale and if I was you I would really try for the 12,000-16,000 range.
Part outs take time, so why not try to sell it for what you want/need.

That is my firebird, love that thing so much.
The trans am was bought to be swapped over to my firebird, but I decided to keep the trans am since it is a special edition.
Good luck, it is a gorgeous car.

lol..I'll put my .02 cents in.
Salvage title only takes 20 - 25% off the price, depends on who you talk to.

I know...we buy and sell clean & Salvage title cars. Some people could care less that it has a Salvage title. Some people just walk away.
We sold a car with a salvage title...honestly we replaced a headlight, fixed the hood, fixed the fender. And painted it. I see cars go through the auction all the time. Some I take a look and the car has frame damage and not a repairable panel on the car and its a clean title. Some have a bump here and there, and its a salvage title. It's all up to the insurance company. Yes they need to be inspected. We have the Dean up in Rose city inspect ours. He's the chief of police up there. I have NO PROBLEM with a Salvage/Rebuilt title as long as it was fixed right. That's all I drive are cars that have been hit and repaired. That's how I bought my truck lol! Some cars have a clean title, but if you do a car fax it says Total Loss. So for the most part drive the car, look at the work or take it to someone to inspect it.

Your car looks flawless....Do not take any low ballers

I did but the paint was a bit ruff looking i used a new mirofiber cloth before i got there and i left scratches all over it it's been polished sence then .

                          It was filthy that day.

GLWS -- don't take any lowballers, hopefully you'll find a way to keep your car.
