Rebuilt titles on a car only lowers the kbb price by 1,000-5,000 not anymore than that on a car worth under 20,000.
His car is probably more in the 9,000-12,000 range if he has a rebuilt
      title and repairs been made.
I bought and resold cars that had rebuilt titles and always ended up selling for about 2,000-3,000 under the kbb price.
Of course you will always have the low ballers offer 4,000 or 3,500 but that's because they usually are shopping out of their price range and cannot afford it

Now if the car is still a salvage with no repairs ever being made i agree your looking at 4,000-7,000 range.

Sounds like its a salvaged title not a rebuilt title, although to me it looks like it would qualify for a rebuilt one.

IMO I would buy that car for $4500 ALL day long, if you would let it go that cheap you will have no issues selling the car. I think its worth more, even with the salvaged title.

Was looking at the SOS website. A vehicle w/ a salvage title cannot be driven until it gets the MSP inspection then you can get a new REBUILT title. At that point, you can drive/ get insurance. Both titles are orange. One thing I saw on there was that a car more than 6 model years old does not need to get a salvage or rebuilt title if wrecked.

That's the way I understood it

It states rebuilt salvage on the title and ive been driving it for several years it passed inspection with no issues at all . And there's no damn way I'll sell this car for less that $10,000.00 i can part it out and get atleast that it still smells like a brand new car inside . Or I'll keep the damn thing and I'll be the guy that lives in a firehawk down by the river it's stupid that just because the last owner didnt want his car fixed and had the Insurence company totaled his car that its got a bad rep i guaranty that most of you have a car that has been hit in some way or another ive seen cars worse than my car by a long shot get fixed and they have a clean title and sell for top dollar .

Ya, the whole way they classify "totaled" etc is odd. If the car was bought new for 30k, gets in an accident the day you buy it, and they determine it will cost 10k to fix it, no harm no foul to the title. But that same car a few years down the road is woth say 12k, and it still costs 10k to fix... bang! There goes the green title.

I'm a motivational speaker, and I live in 'hawk down by the river... dang I miss the Farley bits & movies

How's your ass feel? Now that everyone on here just tore you new a one. The car is fine. Most cars get in a accident. And just cause car fax Says it wasn't in one. Doesn't mean anything. Everyone gets all bent out of shape about a stupid title or small accident. That car isn't even CLOSE to as bad as most cars fixed that are on the road. If you really wanna sell it. I'd put most of the stock parts back on it like the rear end and post in on eBay and all the firehawk guys will go nuts over it. And sell you aftermarket parts. Good luck.

Well i would but like i said above all the stock suspension was bent except what is still in place the factory rear Axel is long gone and tge factory short block is in the corner dead spun every bearing i got water in it and wiped the bearings out it is what it is now i never planned on selling it i have a few people interested in it from race junk if something changes in the next few week which very well could i will keep it it's a pretty rare car the firehawk guys already want it. i think I'll post it over there and see what they say it's registered on there site

I know what your saying it sucks having a salvage title.
My trans am has a rebuilt title from hail damage thats it and to get it ready for the road To pass inspection all I did was new windshield and tires and rims and tail light.
now as in to make it look good I been working on that now that I finished the interior in repairs like cracked dash pad and more cracked parts, next is pdr and tires for my y2k rims.
Did the car deserve the salvaged title for hail damage?
No but the previous owners lose is my gain.
You can get at 16k with the right buyer if your not in a rush do not sell it now it will be worth more in the future.

Yikes, didn't realize there was such a debate going on in here. Sorry I didn't see it earlier. Folks if you don't agree with the price, feel free to move along instead of posting. Otherwise, wish the guy good luck with the sale and move along. Sorry all these keyboard warriors gave the site such a bad rep, David.
