    What about this one?

    http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/2838864135.html

    Or this?

    http://saginaw.craigslist.org/cto/2850975301.html

Sure, no T-tops on the red one, but they are generally more of a hassle than they are worth.

I'd be leery on that yellow one too, I got burned on a car that presented much like that, "this" was rebuilt, "that" was replaced, etc. I overlooked some of the roughness due to age and price, but it was an absolute basket case once I tore into it to fix the "small" problems. Like mentioned, at a minimum I'd want to see some receipts.

              - Leather (preferably black)
              -T-tops
              - Actual Trans am, No formy's

Ive got right around 5k to spend, please no cars with 150k miles unless its got the receipts to prove its been rebuilt somewhere. Auto and 6-speed doesnt matter much to me. It will be my DD so, no project cars. im willing to go about 100 miles out of eastern Michigan to pick her up.

Also while im here i did find one for sale. heres the ad http://toledo.craigslist.org/cto/2856575243.html I have yet to call him because i just saw the ad, what are you thoughts

              Thank you!
with your price range u should have no problem getting a ls1 T/A "car" in auto.. get a 1998-02 it holds more value and looks nicer as well "my opinion"(most others also)
dont settle for a lt1 for 5k range

i know of one in my town dark blue came from Arizona still plated from there for sale
i talked to him he said he wants wat ever blue book value is at its cheapest so im guessing around $4000 it had 140kish miles on it but very clean car all leather "dark gray" monsoon all stock stuff
it could use some touch up paint spots.. the car seen alot of sunny days.. so paint was faded in some areas but still looked real nice if ur interested ill try and get his number sometime

also i recently sold a 98 z28 ls1 camaro for $3800 just needed some paint in front end. and a rear shock u might want to consider a camaro they are priced cheaper sometimes just thought id mention theres nothing wrong with a camaro there respected the same!

when ur looking at car check oil to see if its clean... if its clean he may be hiding something also look for little metal flakes ull see them shine, let motor get up to temperature and watch oil pressure then test drive it and see oil pressure after also... if it goes under 30ish id say walk away... if oil pressure gets lower than stock motor is getting tired and bearing are showing wear.. but they still have life to them *** im sure you know what to look for just thought id mention oil pressure and engine noise is biggest concerns***

goodluck bro ur first f-body ull never forget
p.s. dont buy that yellow one... u dont want one that someone already tampered with ull have alot of issues most likely, sometimes u do get lucky, but when it comes to a daily driver i dont like to take that gamble.

owning a ls1 car would be nice i will admit that but there is nothing wrong with an lt1 car, alot of people will ride the bandwagon and say lsx or bust but i have to say i am really happy with my setup esp when i walk ls1 cars. i say find a really clean lt1 car for your money not a beat up ls1 car. dont rush into it, i am online looking every day and i have never found esp a ls1 t/a for under 6g's that i could honestly say i would own.

i have bought a high miles car and one that needed some work because it was cheaper and could kick myself for being so rushed, and i must have looked at 30 cars before i just bought mine because i needed to have one.

pass on the yellow one and keep your search going for at least a month, roads are still a salt flat and once spring hits clist will blow up with nice cars.

lol seen that car i am from sterling heights, couple issues, unknown mileage and the guy cant throw a battery in it to sell it? rust in the quarter panel which when i had mine fixed when it got dented was $800, and that either looks like rudgate or sterling estates, both of which i know dont have garages in their trailer parks. bet it was winter driven. so 5gs turns into 5800 before its even running. lol ill pass. and i know well knew some lt1s that had alot of lsx guys asking for room. im not knocking ls1 cars im just saying for the price range you could have a nicer lt1 if you dont have an issue owning one. plus they are cheaper to mod. $1000 for a fast intake! thats insane lol.

lol plus 98 had the odd ball heads. man i need to catch my breath

car parts out for around 8k easy at low pricing parts thats why im like woahh lol i wanted it so bad guy never would respond =/
but yah ls1 mods are insane why u think everyone gets nitrous and a cam and calls it a day haha "ls1 is out its all about the ls3" haha (my t/a is ls3)

but id say weigh your pros and cons on what your future plans are with the car buy what you truly like
also wait for deals we all made plenty of mistakes buying something we first seen its like a bad addiction lol.. u got plenty of time to search "i still vote for u getting a ls1 car"

I am going to call him and get the vin, ive made an appointment to go see it sunday and i really dont see a reason to atleast not go look at it. The guy sounded probably 35-40ish and admitted to having fun with it, but who hasnt so you really cant hold that against him. not to be too much of a rebellious little shit and ignore probably the right advice i think as long as there is no major problems ill try and get it for around 3500 and use the rest to repair little things. ill keep you updated and again thanks for the input i appreciate it!

Did you go "is that a new lt1 or what?" or say tell me about the engine. Cause if you said lt1 then he could be just agreeing with you.
I said exactly this " now what about the drive train, like engine and trans"
To which he replied he put a new LT1 one and has put a cam and headers on it.

Well, this ain't terribly better, but I like it, especially if you do the scoop area.

both of those look awesome, but i cant find a stinger hood for a trans am, do you have to steal it off a camaro?
and that one looks slightly sicker because of the black mirrors and pillars. in my opinion.
