Good video. That car moves! I know Mike was very proud of it.

Thanks Brian....Originally posted by meissen View PostHey guys,
Jen, Mike's girlfriend, was hoping some of the members could share their memories of Mike so she could compile them and save them for Mike's son who is only 6 years old.
Guys I dont care if you met him or not, any memories of him from on here or in person would greatly be appreciated

I think I met Tyler once, but I don't know if he'd remember me. He probably remembers going to the 12 Mile Road Starbucks in Madison Heights with his dad one evening and being incredibly bored while he waited for us to play with the 1998 radio that I sold to Mike. I originally got the radio through a disastrous deal down in Indianapolis, where I bought an SS Camaro hood worth $150 for $450
Anyways, I think it was around July of 2010 and I never tested the radio, and after I sold it to Mike he came to find out that almost all of the tiny light bulbs under the faceplate were burned out. I told him that I'd replaced mine recently in my 2002's radio, and that I'd gladly replace the ones in the 1998 unit for him. So, we met one night after work at the Starbucks, Mike brought along the radio and Tyler, and I brought a collection of tools and bulbs to replace the bulbs right there in the store while we sipped on coffee! We also shared stories of back pain and surgeries while I worked -- found out we had a lot in common in that area.
Although Mike and I traded PMs a few more times since we met up at that Starbucks, it turned out that it was the last time that we ever got to meet in person. It was just long enough of a get-together for me to see that he was a good Midwestern stand-up kind of guy, and a good dad. I remember leaving the Starbucks that night and feeling grateful that MiFBody had allowed me to meet a whole bunch of really good people; Mike was most definitely one of the good guys of MiFBody.

I frankly can't recall exactly when I delivered the radio, it may have been a quick transfer one night in the parking lot at that same Starbucks, maybe Michael can help fill in my memory.
I have more vivid memories about the second meeting because there I was, tearing apart a radio in the middle of a Starbucks, even crunching a tiny grain-of-wheat bulb or two during extraction process, and we didn't get tossed out! (Mind you, I was very careful about where the residue was going, and I made very sure that I had cleaned up completely when I left!)
But I definitely felt lucky that night to be able to meet up with and help good people like Mike, and I felt lucky to be part of MiFBody.
That's why I remember that night better than the initial sale.

How sad.. Absolutely horrible..Originally posted by my1994z28 View PostWell sad news... The only thing Tyler has to remember his dad are the videos I have on my phone. His family came over and broke in and took EVERYTHING. I am sorry that there are people in this world like this.sigpic

Tyler (Mike's youngest) is just like him. He got sick of his big wheel now playing music, so he put it up in my dads truck bed, grabbed my dads tool box and took it apart. He then proceeded into the house grabbed the right batteries without saying anything, put it back together and now it works. When Mike was alive, we knew the batteries were dying, but could find out where they went to, to save our lives. He reminds me of Mike every day, from the things he does to the things he says. He told me yesterday he wishes and prays to god everyday that his daddy could come back to life. It is heart breaking.
