Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
That is the risk you take when you hire to someone to do work on the side. Doing work on the side is usually great for both parties but from time to time shit like this happens.
Sorry to hear about the poor experience I hope you get it back on the road soon.

Side work? Its safe to say he wasn't working for anyone but himself, unless he was reporting to Marvin.
Thank you Brian for starting this thread, hopefully it can be a thread to let some vent as well as describe their stories as well.

don't think so, at his old place, the city was called handful of times for doing "business" at his home. One reason I had to pick up Jakes car on a short notice in the middle of his build. His car also received new dents scratches and chips.

What Larry said below. Along with many many other requirements it takes to be legit. I believe there is a law that if you are not licensed shop the customer is not required to pay for the repairs.
What is somewhat disappointing are the amount of people who are saying they aren't surprised yet never reached out to me. If there are others who had bad experiences and didn't speak up, that's not good...

In truth what would you have done? Stories about Ken haven been floating around for well over a year now. I'm 100% positive you've heard or caught win of some things. I'm just glad I went with my gut and people who I know who thought about taking their cars to him, didn't.

The only story I've known about has been Jake's car. Ken had quite the story to defend himself and it sounded like some of the troubles that Jake was running into was outside of Ken's hands. Matt and Steve were the only other folks who came to me and talked otherwise it wouldn't have gotten this far...
You would have removed him as a sponsor? That wouldn't help these builds/cars....
I've always had that gut wrenching feeling. But Greg plastered how great of a guy ken was over this site so I kept my mouth shut. Then overnight Greg changes his tune. Nothing got posted no details nothing so people never found out. I haven't heard one good experience yet with Ken.
i also have never dealt with him. So of course I'd never pipe up on a gut feeling call.
I had a $35 deal with Ken. I was told several stories as to where my item was. In the end I received it. But I knew from that experience what he was about..
My experience was long and drawn out with Ken too. I never felt confident in what he did and ended up pulling my motor back out and redoing it myself. I just took it as a lesson learned. I also assumed I was the only case of this, which seems to be that it wasn't.

Had people spoken up, these guys might not have taken their car to Ken in the first place..
Either way guys, please speak up if you aren't satisfied with a sponsor on the site. At the very least we can try and help mediate an amicable resolution.
