Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
How about the South Park rule? If they can say it there then it's OK to say here. I'm AMAZED at some of the stuff they get away with on that show!

Haha yeah. It actually really cracks me up when I hear certain shows. One show goes away with saying one thing, yet on another show or such they censor it. Like how they censor "cut" on MTV in songs.
i know i'm new here, but i just want to give my two cents:
i read thru the whole thread, and i agree that this IS a car site, and I defy almost anyone to tell me they dont curse when a socket slips off the nut, sending your knuckles on a crash course to some pokey metal piece...
I understand people's concern about keeping the site clean, but like i said in my introduction thread, I'm coming from camarov6.com which is squeaky clean pretty much, which gets annoying when we post up links from www.fuelslut.com and part of the link gets "stared out". Cars are a cursing kind of hobby, it can get in the way, and some people (including me, rather enjoy "spirited speech". thats not to say that I can't express myself perfectly well without it... i do so everyday at work. I just dont have to think so much about my language.
One member brought up the difference b/w:
1. my ****ing trans is broke again
and
2. you're a dirty *** mother****er you know that, james? i oughta reach thru this monitor and ***** slap you back to bangkok...
again, when your car breaks, you get frustrated and want to swear, throw somthing and eventually grab a beer and fix it. #2 really falls more under the category of flaming, and no amount of censoring will cure that. That's a job for the site admins.
Also note, in #1 and 2, you DID pretty much mentally substitute the stars for curse words anyways... so its not like starring them out is going to do anything... you'd almost have to have the program re-write the text on the fly... for instance if someone posted "shit", it would re-write it as "crap"... or something like that.
I guess i'm just trying to say that most people will express themselves judiciously, and when they feel the urge to throw down a 4 or 5 letter word, we're adults, we've heard it before, let them do it. If someone is getting rediculous, or two people are flaming each other, then thats a job for the admins to take care of. just my .02 tho... i'm new so i probably dont count but w/e... just wanted to throw it out there.

Why would you way that about James? What did he ever do to you?? You're sick, you know that? lol You do make good points, but as I see it, the site star's out the swear words that have been deemed "Unnecessary" for the well-being of the site to try and keep it a little cleaner. You know you put the word there, I know you put the word there, but the word isn't actually there, you know? I find that most "4-letter words," in a sense, are interchangeable, so it may be implied that one word was spoken, but you can't really tell. Censorship does suck, but I must also say that this is one of the best F-Body sites I've ever been on, and people do tend to swear a bit much here, at least in the past. The internet has enough inappropriate behavior and language, we don't need any more on our site, IMHO.
nobody "has to" curse when doing anything.. seriously.. what does it help other than making yourself look like a complete redneck/white trash/hick that has no class.
Does it happen? yeah. Does it "have to"? No
I guess i expect more professionalism from people i work on cars with. The last engine i built with a coworker (~2 weeks ago).. never heard a single curse. And that was removing the old engine and building a new one.. so yeah
You never (or rarely) hear cursing on Formula 1 teams.
We're going to lock this up because the decisions are already in place and the censorship I feel is pretty fair where it's at.
The arguement that "Well I swear when I hit my knuckles on something working on my car" isn't a valid argument when you're sitting on a forum typing. When I talk to my parents and Angie, if I have to belch I just do it. When I'm on the forum typing, I wouldn't type *belch* just because I do it in person. Maybe not the best analogy to it, but hopefully the point gets across that just because you swear when you're working on a car, you're not working on a car when you're on the forum.
