My name is Brian and I live in Macomb County. I've been shadowing the website for a year, and need to reply/post some ads and here is my story. Grew up in Centerline and had a few Camaro's back in the 80's. They were all small blocks, but with factory cars having around 180hp back then it was no problem to strut your stuff with confidence, even if they were just 400hp 350's. My Dad raced everything from drag cars at Motor City to dirt cars up at Owendale to formula v's at Waterford. Like many, helping work on cars starting at the age of 3 changes your DNA. But then raising a family, my time and money became too scarce to continue with cars and I started woodworking and spent more time fishing and camping. Now 16 years later I get a call from a friend that says his neighbor has a 73 camaro with engine/trans problems that is ready to go on the market. After 10 minutes of looking at it, I began to feel 18 again and snapped it up. It was on the road last year for short periods, but too many small problems kept it on a short leash. Well, its almost ready to hit the road for the first time this year in the next few weeks, and look forward to meeting some of the people on the website. The goal was to have it ready for the meet/greet, but having a 9 inch cut down and went thru a friend....enough said right!! So now I have to ask, where the hell did all this horsepower come from. Its not that I didn't know you can make 600 hp out of a small block, and I'm an engineer in the auto biz., but the amount of cars that have 600hp and even 1000 on the street is awesome. Thanks for reading, and I will see you up at meets soon.
