Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I heard about this website from a guy at a carshow at Dooleys of Roseville last sunday. The guy was really cool and helpful so I definitely had to come here to check out this site.

I plan on doing a lot of after market customization to my Camaro, I'm just not sure exactly what I want done. The guy that refered me to the site talked a lot about cleaning up the engine area, moving all the wiring ect, which sounded great, but expensive. I know I plan to put a flow master in before the summer is over.

Anyways, I look forward to getting to know you all and learning all I can from you guys.

Also, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT putting a flowmaster on your 3.8 - it will sound terrible. Personally, I think the best sounding exhaust for the 3.8 motor is off a stock 98-02 5.7 V8 car

I'll get some pic's up real soon. I just went to town on it tonight and got it shined up for a car show up at pampa lanes on Van dyke tomorrow.

I hadn't considered that about the flowmaster. I really want a nice rumble on it. Will stock 5.7 V8 exhaust give me that?

Looking forward to the pics! Most exhaust systems out there will sound good at idle on the 3.8s... the trick is finding one that sounds good above 2500 rpm. From hearing several exhaust systems on the 3.8s, I genuinely think the stock LS1 exhaust sounds the best. A member on here JoeliusZ28 had this setup on his old 3.8 and it sounded great for a V6

Nothing will give you that delicious low rumble you want, except for adding a cam with two extra cylinders attached to it! Ask me how I know!

Other folks besides Fred have recommended the Z28 or even the SS exhaust for my own sixer, and I have to say that I'm really pleased with the results I got with an SLP Dual-Dual catback system. No, it will never be mistaken for an LS1, but it's definitely a worthy improvement -- both sound and appearance-wise -- for your 3800 F-Body.

Ok so here's some pics of my Camaro. As you can tell, I've got a lot of work to do on it. Forgive the quality, they were taken with my blackberry.

So I've decided that I'm going to put the tail light and head light covers on. Now that I think about it, I should have taken a picture of the engine. I also really want to remove that taped on pinstripe. It looks like garbage. Any suggestions for a way to take it off without damaging the clearcoat?

are they under clear or just sitting on top? a plastic razor blade and some patience once u lift a little up to slowly peal it off with your fingers trying not to break it. how i used to do it at the dealer. and for taillight covers just be carful they are known for trapping heat and warping the taillight lenses so it looks like a crater. just a heads up.
