yea stay away from flowmaster on a 3.8 lol
Depends on your overall goals with the car what I suggest as far as mods. Any questions though let me know, I know the 3.8s inside and out. lol. Done pretty much everything to them lol------------------------------------------

After having modded my 3.8, I found that the best sound for that setup was the Dynomax muffler (I actually ran this muffler setup before the engine and trans work was started, though it'll rot out pretty quick (if I remember correctly, it took roughly 4 years). I went with the magnaflow SS all welded up next and yes, there was a slightly better reponse on the dyno (5 hp), but the down side is it's more raspy than I like, but it'll last for quite a while. This is with straight tubes to the back, no cat, dual outlet style.Last edited by steddy; June 9th, 2011, 09:51 AM.sigpic

Welcome to the site! The stuff he mentioned to clean up the engine bay is really not expensive at all, just a little time consuming. There are a few write-ups on it to help you.
