  • I'm a new member!

    Hello Everyone!,

I really shouldn't just say I'm a new member. My Wife Suzy and especially my Son Brent are avid car enthusiasts too.

In addition to our 2002 Firehawk Convertible- (black on black, six speed, loudmouths, auburn, strut tower brace, smooth bellows, 1000cfm MAS, etc.)
    we also have a '63 Impala SS-409.

I'm ashamed to say we were not aware of your site, nor we were aware of your meet and greet. We are definitely looking forward to coming.

We live in Mason. I am a CRNA. My Wife is a Dental Hygienist. We moved to Michigan from northern California in 2000. We enjoy cars-all kinds-, music, movies, reading, food, and cooking. Did I say we enjoy cooking and eating?!

Now, forgive my ignorance, but I don't really know how to get pictures of the car on your site. I'm relatively computer savvy, but I need some instruction. Please!
In the meantime, Suzy, Brent and I look forward to meeting you all.

    Thanks,

    Dave Harvey

        Thanks Very Much!

Thanks! Sounds like you all have a good time together.

Right now I work at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing. I've been there since September. Have also worked at Sparrow, Hayes-Green-Beach, and a variety of other facilities as a management member of a specialty staffing agency.

Will check out the advanced link and probably will have some more questions.

        Thanks again.

          Hey yourself miT/A'96

Thanks for the welcome! So you when you reply to one post does that reply go to everybody currently on that thread, or do you reply individually to each poster?

Also, I guess I'm just not as hip as I thought- what is a "post-whore"? a "post-slut?" what's the difference.

Always tryin' to learn you know...

          Thanks again,

          Dave

I was thinking there was a chance you might be at the University of Michigan Medical Center. I had my Liver Transplant there in 1990. It's an amazing hospital!

Looking forward to seeing your pics.

No, not at U of M. A little too far for me. Great place. I've got some friends there. Sounds like your transplant went well. Fantastic!

when you hit "post reply" or "post quick reply" it replies to the thread itself so everyone can view it. i quoted your response here, so it shows what im replying to (just makes it easier for everyone to follow the thread).

a "post whore" is someone who has over 1000 posts. a "post slut" is someone who has more than that im pretty sure but i cant remember. either way, the person has a lot of posts. haha

                  So, you're a young guy!

                  I'm a 1953 model, myself.

Ya, transplant went pretty well. I had a rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. I was never a drinker, smoker or drug user. After my transplant I went back to work for about 15 years, and then had a downturn about 3 years ago. I now have something called Vanishing Bile Duct Syndrome (Chronic Hepatic Ductal Rejection) which has damaged my new liver. They changed up some of my meds and have it under control now, but not before there was some permanent damage.

Now I'm kinda in limbo, not good enough to work, and not bad enough for another transplant. So, I do what I can and take it one day at a time.

But, I would have been dead in 1990 without the transplant, so I'm way ahead of the game.

                          Thanks very much

Thanks Very Much, All of you.

I really have to spend some real time on the site to look at all the cool cars.
My Son Brent is 21, but has autistic issues and is developmentally delayed, but he knows cars!!

He can recognize an F-Body a mile away (although he refers to all of them as "Hawks") He's really having a good time looking at the pictures with me, but is rather irritated I'm not spending the whole day...and night doing but that.

Will attempt getting some pics on board a little later today.

That is some journey you've been through with your liver issues. I am impressed and inspired by your attitude. Sounds like you have some cool vehicles.

We are looking forward to meeting you all!

So the "Whore/Slut" thing is just about posting huh?

Take Care- will be on later.
