  • It was sagging down just about the entire length. Originally it was gray and after removal I found many torn sections and one spot totally busted through (right above the drivers head, figure that one out). I covered it in resin essentially making it into a solid peice of fiberglass instead of the cheasy compressed fiber that it is stock.

Then I used 3m Super Trim Adhesive liberally on some headliner fabric from Jo-Ann fabrics.

    Pray that she holds!

      • Headliner material should be foam backed, yes.

        • Plastic covered replacement headliners aren't foam backed. Foam will just eventually deteriate and material will sag. Anyways I'm not sure what my new headliner material is gonna be like. I thought the headliner i had on was similar to stock material. Way off the stock is like vinyl.

Could be because the plastic headliner is formed perfectly, whereas the fiberglass one gets cracked and has dents in it etc, so the foam backing effectively hides all the bumps and holes in the board once it is upholstered.
