  • LS1 fuel tank swap help

I just removed my third gen tank. I am picking up a plastic fourth gen tank this week. Any tips for the install? Anyone running braided lines to the fuel tank?

Honestly, TGO has every piece of info you need to complete the swap. It's not really worth your time to post a thread about it here, as there are really only one or two people on MiFbody who may have even of done the (fuel tank) swap. Good luck with the project!

Edit- You can check out James' thread about his LS1 swap. There are a few cool little things he posted while building it:

its pretty easy, however its easier to run the stock tank, and yes I ran stainless braided line, I too read a lot of tips on TGO even using the search function over there too.

The 3rd gen tanks are made of steel and rot out, and they use the old style metal fuel sending units, which also rot out. 4th gen tanks are all plastic, making it lighter and longer lasting

I believe 99 and up used plastic in 4th gens.

Correct. The 98 tank is still steel, which has some advantages with different types of pumps.
