Bought a new Thirdgen!

Well after searching for another hardtop automatic thirdgen i kinda gave up as all the ones i found werent solid, then no job become an issue. Lately ive been working 60 hours a week, so i renewed my craigslist add because it was still something i wanted. Some younger guy messaged me and said he had a car exception was that it was a 5 speed. i guess i had to learn a manual at some point, the car is really solid, it had been in a wreck, there's a touch of bondo on the doors, and it has rust on the bottom of the rear seat pan but thats it. it runs great drives great and chirps them all the way through 4th.

anyhow im not too good at the 5 speed yet. i will be just fixing the small things and driving the car dont know if ill put my build plan to use with this one or not anyhow im happy with how the car handles while driving it. front springs are worn, needs exhaust put on and some of the interior pieces are either spray painted or missing but its a well optioned car. 350 T5, has the fog lights as well as the rear shade and the high third brake light. At work ive been making good connections with drivetrain, paint and interior places that seem to like me and say if i need something theyll give me a good deal so i may just start gathering some parts when i have a little extra and go from there. we will see.

CCI driveline. i build custom driveshafts for just about everything, and we do balancing rotating etc etc for just daily drop offs or just fix fixeable ones lol. 80% of nascar uses our driveshafts so far. we are way far ahead of everyone in how we build and balance our driveshafts and all that.

Somebody drop in a 350? Couldn't get them from GM with a T5.

PS - Careful with 3rd gear, it's a weak point in these trans.

I will be pulling a 700R4 out of a 85 if you are interested in making it an automatic.

Do you know what your work charged to shorten a drivehshaft ~3 inchs and rebalace?

Looks like a great project! Can't wait to watch it come along. I too have the T-5 and haven't run into any issues with the trans, even behind a more powerful engine.. As of late, i've been beating it up pretty good too.

I've got a few parts laying around - coolant bottle, door cards, washer bottle, wonderbar. Need any of them, let me know!

definitely was sropped in later, has a 750 carb up top that works flawlessly might need a bit of adjustment though.

i still have my 700r4 from my 85 with vette servos, stall, shift kit, and better internals.
dunno about teh driveshaft, youd have to call and ask and it depends on what jamie thinks when he sees it based on the slip yoke u joints, the actual tubing etc etc.

interior wise its staying black, there are some spray [ainted pieces and the dash is covered in white purple blackish felt. its ugly so ill be sending a few items to my neighbor to gete rewrapped and then the rest of the stuff ill have to swap with my other black interior. and then GP seats will be going in.
