Well my exhaust is definitely getting replaced. It severed completely off right at the end of the glass pack. I purchased a cat-back exhaust kit from summit, but I thought why not get headers on it while I'm at it. I would prefer long tubes over short, but still have no clue what would work well with my car. It's a 85z28 (305), not sure if that really matters. Also what else would I need other than a pipe to go from the headers to the cat back system. And would it be worth bringing it in to a shop to get the headers and exhaust on? And what would be the approximate cost for labor? I appreciate all further advice regarding the matter. Thanks

If you are going to lay down some cash, I would go long tubes, and y pipe. get off road version that will do away with emission junk. If your not handy then pay someone to do it. Its not hard just cramped and the tough part is getting bold loose and out of heads without breaking them. Pace Setter is lower price, there are some on ebay if you go that route get stainless.
You will gain some HP, but big advantage is later if you decide to do more stuff like cam intake etc.sigpic

Best mod you can do is remove the 305 and drop a 350 in =). You can junkyard a 350 cheap and build that puppy up. Haha.

Between my father and I, we're handy enough. My biggest worry is breaking a bolt on the manifold. And with my family's luck, it is bound to happen. I'm looking for a decent pair that are dependable but not going over a few hundred bucks. This is my first time browsing the market for headers, so I have no idea which brands are dependable. You shouldn't have to worry about breaking bolts off I for a set of hedmans 68640 headers lts.
Theyre scrapped up on the bottom from racing up and don the hills up north. I would let them go for 80$ if you came and got them. Would need a y pipe made but any shop can do that for ya. Let me know if you're interested.

I have a set of LT for a 350 although they are not for sale, I wouldnt go any other way, so
on the LT's
