    don't be haters,lol

car craft just had this same question about building a 305 in the newest issue and they gave a stroker breakdown and everything..

Bottom line its cheaper and easier to build a 350..

call it b.s. all you want. i did it IT WAS ME!!!! it was in a monte carlo, not a camaro. my monte is a shade over 3400lbs with me in it. its a street car. not a drag car. i have full interior. its a factory non air car. 3;73 locker. I have 3/4 lenght hooker headers 2.5inch duals x piped. with a cold air intake that i made. the motor has less then 3,000 miles on it. its a speed density tpi 305 out of a 90 firebird. remember peeps..you can have all the shit in the world done to your motor but if your tune is off, your not making all the power you could be. it was 14.06 @ 97.9. roughly 55 degrees, street tires. i was blown away as well.....ALL THROTTLE NO BOTTLE!

wow anddddddddd there is the PROOF! Wow I know there are some guys running a 305 and putting up some serious numbers, hence the reason I thought about playing around with one. But nice and love the slip too!

Nice job....I'll give credit where credit is due, not everyday you come across someone who who actually has there crap together.....I guess I get dismayed by all the talkers out there.

BTW...my tune was spot on...I did it my self with a wideband and was running an Accel DFI system....best I got was a 14.2 but you had me beat beat on rear gear and 60 foot times.

            Still a lame motor though

o yeah i'm sure the fresh motor has alot to do with it. i like the underdog motors. i'm actually quite happy with the setup...i was very nervous about it, cuz i had a built 355/carb in it before and that thing was flat out stupid fast. i like it the way it is..sure it could use alittle more but thats a perpetual cycle there. it gets great mileage, fun to drive and (i've paddled quite a few newer mustangs with it) so i'm happy

whats your idea of stupid fast??? Cause to me stupid fast is a 10 sec car on drag radials in street trim..with no juice

yes definetly sounds fun and you need some vids

...so it was a rebuilt 305, not a "stock from the factory 305"
                          With Headers and an intake.
Hats off to you for building a nice 305, looks really good.

In my tune I'm running a little rich, so its not 100% nuts on, its about 90%
But my "stock" bottom end with 100,000 miles on it, also stock heads. And went 14.6

Like I said my Bro in laws old stock motor 350 tpi went 13.685 with a 150 shot of nitrous. Also just had shorty headers and a custom made air intake. A/c was still hooked up.

No actually it was a gm site car that i pulled the motor out of...all original from 90, no rebuild here. i have all the documentain and log books for the car. GM forgot to take them out. original tpi intake..just had all that jazz powdercoated.

                              305 h.o

this is what a real motor looks like also this is a 305. I liked building up my 305, they make decent street power, and still are capable of good MPG's. I really wanna put it on a Dyno because I still have know clue what it is making for HP and Torque. If i can make 300HP+ I'm happy.

so what could be a good build ?

what would be a good way on a $800 budget to build a decent running motor to put into a roller, if you have either a 305 or 350 laying in your buddys garage ?

where would you spend your money?
