  • 4th gen rear end in a 3rd gen...

    has anyone on here done a 4th gen rear end swap in a 3rd gen if so what did you do to bolt it up i heard it just a drop in type thing however do i need anything esle and will my 3rd gen stuff work... shocks and springs and will the 4th gen ebrake work

    are you talking about a engine and trans swap? theres a few guys here who have done it im sure can give great advice

          3rd gen stuff will work, as far as I know.

                Everything bolts right up.....minus the parking brake...that you have to use a little engineering on. Then you will have to run a set of 4thgen wheels on the rear too....because it's 2 inches wider.

                  well i have been told that the rear is 2inches wider and my 3rd gen will bolt up and will i need to just get a longer ebrake cable???

                        Everything is drop out and bolt up jon, you will need to replace or "engineer" that brake line as I was telling you and remove the elctronics of the 4th gen rear. But other then that it should be simple, and like stated above it will be 2 inches wider and you will need to run 4th gen rims (I believe) so that means someone named Darrenscamaro can take the ones you have on your car now...
