Can you argue that it's "revolutionary"? Perhaps. Just because it's "new" and "different" doesn't mean it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

If you look on thirdgen.org under the apperrance and detail threads you will find a thread showing all the rims guys have on their cars and a lot of them are 4th gen wheels. But here is my pic of my 4th gen 35th anniversary 10 spoke wheels on my 88 Camaro. Im swapping in a 4th gen rear in the next week and then I'll be running these wheels.Attached Files- 1988 Camaro IROC-Z

I may be looking to swap in a 4th gen disc rear end as well. Right now my IROC has a posi rear end, but with drum brakes. I have C5 brakes to swap on and i'm thinking it'll be less work to add them to the 4th gen setup. I can then run my 18x10.5" Z06 wheels & tires w/out spacers in the rear.
I just got my IROC closer to home so i should be able to make some real progress on the car. 1st item of business is to get the front suspension back under it. BTW, moving a car that has no front wheels on it SUCKS! Luckily i welded up a set of jack stand dollies to make life a little easier.
Anyways...if anyone out there has a 4th gen posi rear w/ discs they wanna get rid of, let me know. Sorry for the hijack...1988 IROC-Z Camaro

In progress: 4th gen disc rear, Z06 17"/18" wheels & tires, C5 Corvette front brake upgrade, SBC 355 carb motor.
Plans: flat black paint, bronze wheels, blacked out windows, tails, headlights.

Okay I swapped a 4th gen MOSER 12 bolt in my 3rd gen 2 years ago. I ended up selling it last year due to funds etc. Anyways...
They bolt right up, my brakes were off a 91 Firebird Formy and I had ZERO issues with the e-brake lines. The stock rims will stick out. I rocked the car in stock rims for a little while but wouldnt really race the car on them bc I didnt wanna rub the rear quarters.
The 4th gen is 1 5/8 PER SIDE longer then a 3rd gen rear end. So imagine your tires sticking out that much further then now.
I ran 16inch 4th gen firebird wheels on the rear at the track tho.
Here are some pics of mine with the swap.
Hope this helps ya out.
EVERYTHING BOLTS UP FINE!

I am running the 35th anniversary chrome wheels. They are not too easy to find in chrome but if you can find them they are expensive from what Ive seen. The chrome is not the best on these wheels so I am going to strip them down and then have them jet hot coated.- 1988 Camaro IROC-Z
