Ok so i want to build an engine to put into a third gen. My original plan was gen I carburated 383 high compression on e-85. Making about 600hp.Well peak numbers arnt important i just wanna run 10's.
Well i got to thinking gas is expensive and alcahol gets crappy gas mileage so mabey ill go fuel injected. I was thinking of useing a lt1 platform for the fuel injection insted of tpi for the higher rpm potential(probaly only 6k or so is all i want).
And then i was wondering am i better off using a gen II block also? Insted of making lt1 heads work with gen I block? But i would want a four bolt main wouldent i? Witch would be lt4 block. Or would a two bolt main be fine? I can find gen I whole engine for like $200 i don't wanna spend alot on a engine that i wont be useing most of.
Is there a stand alone pcm for lt1's or what year pcm's are easyest to tune? I would be doing all the tuneing myself.
Does someone make lt1 headers for third gen's?
And no im not gunna do a ls1 b/c i don't have the money to do a ls1 like i would want to do.
Thanks for your help guys.
