If you want to bastardize it, I have a complete LT1 with K-member, steering rack, brakes, most accessories, wiring, gauges etc. Of course it also has a rod issue, but nowhere near as bad as yours and it can be rebuilt. It's already torn apart so you would just need a transmission.

Because you didn't have enough options to think about already.

My gut feel is that you would not be able to get $1,800 for the car as-is. LS1 is not feasible unless you want the car to eventually be your dream LS1 F-Body, but financially it's going to be a challenge, and it's going to try your woman's patience. Z28 4th Gens are plentiful, and probably a better buy to just get one rather than try to convert one. I may have to make the same decision eventually as well.
