• ls1 lid swap on lt1 with 98-02 front end?

Need a write up on doing a ls1 air box swap on an lt1 that now has the 98-02 front end.

Trying to gain use of my ss hoods ram air capabilities.

I'm not wanting to cutup my rad support. But I have no problem mangling the ls1 lid and base.

You need to use the lt1 write up. You still have the lt1 radiator support so nothing has changed. Get the parts and start test fitting them.

I'm 95% sure the LT1 and LS1 core support is the same. All you would need is the lower airbox, lid, and coupler to make it work. But I'm an LS1 guy so what do I know
QuickTop just did this to his LS body'd LT1 car.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but cutting the radiator support and trimming at the plastic pieces is to fit the LS1 lid under an LT1 hood which comes down much lower. On an LS1 body style you shouldn't have to do these steps, correct?

Trust me I want to add the cc503 to my car but I'm trying to gain use of my ram air as hood.I need a 180 degree intake snout and an SLP lid. I have the airbox already but it seems like somethings off.

Can someone post pics of a true ss ls1 style car under the hood?

Not sure if you're looking for an under the hood pic or engine bay pic.

i stand corrected on the radiator supports being different. My apologies.

No you got it right engine bay is what I wanted.

So this will make the ram air in the hood functional? Doesn't seem like it would? I've repaired the hole that needed fixed. And I have the ram air box. Just need alittle
Guidence on how to set it all up.

The air comes in the hole and around to the front of the hood which pushes it under the lid. The lid is raised a bit and it allows air under it.

For my setup I had to trim a lot of the plastic radiator support to get it to sit flush on the car. Then you have the fun part of figuring out how to get the MAF/lid setup at the correct angle to the throttle body since the LT1 sits lower than the LS1 does. Other than that it's a piece of cake.

Take it from someone who's been there, done that. With the LS1 front end there is no reason to cut the rad. support. The only reason to do that is to get the lid to sit lower under an LT1 hood. The LS1 hood sits much higher there for it's just a mater of getting the lid and LS1 rad support and ploping them on. See pic below.

well then youre going to need a pretty long fernco to reach from the lid to the throttle body. ill look for some pictures and edit them real quick to show what needs to be shaved, but IMO i think its going to be a case to case scenario, you may you need to take off a lot more than i did and you may not need to take any off.
