We had another member who yanked his EGR and we ignored it at first because 93-95 it doesn't matter, but 96+ it does

So you know ahead of time, Motor City Speed has a Mustang dyno not a dynojet. Dynojets read about 30 rwhp higher than Mustangs, so don't worry if you don't get a super high number. My small cam, headers, ls6 intake LS1 only put down 360rwhp, but runs really hard. I'm happy with the tune.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

I'm thinking that I'll do a mail-order tune from PCMforless.com in the meantime, just so I can get my car to the Dream Cruise. I'll get it done properly (probably at Motor City Speed) next year.

That's a good plan, and IMO the proper place for mail-order tunes.

One thing to add though, did you ask Rich about the possibility of having him disable your EGR before the actual tune? I don't know much about tuning, but if I'm not mistaken, isn't it just a quick thing to disable in the computer? Maybe he'd do it one evening for a deposit toward the tune if you asked nicely. I've known tuners to do stuff like this by giving the customer a base tune to get the vehicle running before the actual tune, except in this case it's probably just a 5 min thing if I'm not mistaken on what's involved. Would save you the additional money of the mail-order tune if you could pull it off.

Hmm...interesting idea. I'll have to give him a call and pitch this tomorrow.

unfortunately, it can't be done. He doesn't have a harness to plug an LT1 PCM into

yeah I called over the weekend and left a message. I kinda wish I could find someplace closer, though. I talked to Walsh Motorsports, and he doesn't tune LT1s. I also called Vector and left a message there.

I talked to Steve (BLKHAWK) at SB Tuning, and I think I have something tentatively worked out, but I'm almost an hour and a half away from Port Huron...is there ANYBODY else that's closer to this side of Metro Detoit?

Steve, if you happen to come across this thread, I'm just trying to consider all my options

Many members on the site have been tuned by Steve. Myself and my dad included. He does great work, and is actually the tuner at Vector during the day.
