Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Anyone in the Troy/Rochester area able to lend a hand or give an opinion?
When you open the fuse panel in the engine bay (unscrew the cover and lift up), on the inside of the cover is a diagram of which fuse goes to what. I'd start checking basically all of them. There's also the fuse panel in the dash next to the driver's side door. Open the door and you'll see the panel on the side of the dash. Again a diagram is on the cover which tells you what each fuse is.
just got off work, plugged in my Tech2 again just to look, im definately NOT getting a signal from the crank position sensor, my engine speed on my tech2 did not register anything while cranking it... looks like im replacing the Opti eh?

An opti or a blown fuse... start with the basics, we haven't heard if you've checked the fuses yet. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it - who knows, maybe some static caused a surge and it blew a fuse.

I may go buy one of those Opti's just to have one on hand but good news! I got her running! The wire going to the Opti was not grounded properly, after lookin up a few wiring diagrams i traced back to the ground and as soon as i fixed it it fired right up!!! I was jumpin for joy haha

That's good to hear! I'm curious though, do you think was it spark or injector related? I know if the low resolution track isn't there the injectors will not pulse.
From what I gather, the opti does three things...acts like a conventional distributor (cap and rotor), low resolution for the injectors, and high resolution to control the spark timing

When i scanned it last night it threw the 16 code for low res, i played with the connector and scanned it again tonight and threw the code 16 and 36 for high res, i cleared the codes and checked the connector with a multimeter which was reading low so i jumped it from the connector to the ground on the battery and it fired right up... So im not exactly sure... haha
