in and out movement wont be fixed by a bearing

edit* if your axle is like mine, then you have c clips in the dif housing, this is what holds the axle in, which if your clip is worn then it would cause the movement in and out.

Mine has movement too, maybe quarter of an inch max and probl less than that.

LT1 cars with TC are not common. Yet another way that the LS1 cars were superior.

        I wouldn't consider TC a plus...more of an annoyance

I have only been in a few fbody's that had enough power to actually need to use traction control

well for my car at least, my feeling that it's supposed to work, so I would rather that it did work.

Anyway to get this thread back on topic, I got 'er done. It was a PITA, but I got 'er done nonetheless. I think it took me and my dad better than half an hour of putzing and swearing (though that part was just me) just to get that stupid c-clip out

after taking the retainer bolt out 7.5 mm or whatever size it is, push in the axle a bit use a magnet to hold the clip and out she comes, but glad to see you have it fixed

yeah we ended up using a magnet to hold it then we used an old screwdriver we bent into a hook to hook it and pull it out. Took a lot of trial and error though.

kinda strange they typically fall right out, they are only held in by friction.
