  • ls1 or ls2-3?

from what i know a knock sensor isnt located on the block for a ls1... and a knock sensor is near oil filter here..
any ideas how to get the block stamping they make these cars way to compact !

that has been converted. the normal side mounted knock sensors dont look like that. there should be a size molded into the front wall
    genIII are on the back

what do u mean?"u think someone tapped block to put knock sensor in there?"
from what research ive seen ls2 and 3 have knock sensor at this location
      this is a 4th gen t/a
but on the front were is a good idea to look?

those style go in the valley plate. a normal ls2 look like this
there should be a partial vin right near there just above the pan rail. may be able to get engine size from that. since it appears to be a later block the engine displacement should be on the right front face just below where the a/c compressor bracket bolts

The knock sensor screwed into you block is a standard gen III ls motor knock sensor that would normally be in the valley. My guess is a knock sensor went bad on your car while the last guy owned it and he was too lazy to pull the intake and replace the ones in the valley so he just screwed a replacement into the block.

faster to pull the intake. have to drill the block and buy a harness to do that

I don't know if anyone makes a harness to adapt to the newer sensors. They normally use the original fBody sensors

Here is my knock sensor on my LS2 block. I don't remember why I relocated it to the front of the block. Maybe for header clearance?

just very confusing because im pretty sure its a new motor i dont see why he would tap into block to add a older sensor? car runs very good but has some minor issues it works it self out...
it fails to start and tried to back fire "sometimes"
after i start it up it may run in sort of a limp mode after i drive it a mile or 2 its has all its power... "im sure i need to tune the car"

hoping u guys could also give me some advice on if this comes with everything i will need and if it good i have a aftermarket fuel pump "i hope" i was told he replaced it due to he thought thats why it failed to start but he said it was a performance one couldn't remember what it was though.. guess air/fuel gauge will help a lot though... but hoping my car can support this kit

if it matters any i have a full exhaust "kooks" 3inch y pipe 243 casting heads..

this is nitro kit i was looking to get i figure i will be running 150 shot most of the time but i want more in case i feel the need for a 250 or something

i know these hook up from 02 sensor but if my car has two o2 sensors what do i do then?

nitro gauge is as good as any i figure..

also thought i could use some better rotors other than stock..

The number is down further. What's the intake look like or part number? thats not a stock valley cover. is that an egr tube in the pic? if so its probably an ls2 cause non of the cathedral port intakes have an egr. head casting number?
