Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

90% sure those are what I had on my black LT1 car. Didn't stop all that great, but they sure were pretty! Can't expect lt1 cars to stop all that great anyway. Never had any cracking or anything like that and I think I put almost 20k on them. Let me check into it to make sure they were the same ones.

What this guy said. They seem to be a good appearance mod but i wouldnt expect any performance gain from them. LT1 brakes are only a single piston caliper which is their downfall.
I have these on my car and have no complaints. They stop better than stock IMO.
Did you "upgrade" from worn out brakes though? Not pointing the finger at you but i often see people claim an improvement on stuff like this when they are comparing to something that was worn out. Every time i do a brake job even with stock parts on any car i usually see a huge improvement.
I bought that same set, about 6 months after replacing my pads & calipers. There's enough of a difference to notice, not alot but still some. Put some braided stainless brake lines on after that.Again, a noticable difference but still not that much. Considering that, it's a definite improvement over stock when combined with the braided lines.
Brakes are one thing I won't chance no matter what.
I would rather wait and pay more for a known good quality product, than have the chance of not being able to stop the vehicle - especially a performance vehicle.
Just my opinion - but I never have skimped on brake part cost.
My brakes failed on me once on the 02, and I won't drive it hard until I get either the Brembo kit or SSBC kit.
I'd save up and get a brake kit from SSBC or Brembo. The cost has come down from what they used to be.

ah, so that's why everybody says LT1 brakes suck. So would it be worth my time/money to upgrade to LS1 brakes?

Part of it. For normal street use, you are never going to exceed the capabilities of an lt1 stock caliper. The actual rotor size of ls1s are much bigger though and do stop quite a bit quicker. IMO lt1 brakes are perfectly fine if you aren't going to autocross/road race too much.

i have a set from brakemotive on my black car and my DD. They are great stuff and excellent service. I looked more into their stuff and both the pads and rotors are powerstop, just rebranded
