  • NEW DUAL INTAKE?what ya think

Well I thought I was to be first to do this to a f-body but in my search I found one, seen on vette and liked it so was going to fab one up to fit.Wonder what everyone thinks?going with red filters but thinking of black rubber connecters(doesn't show wear/age as bad)the one mounted already is for vette and seems huge and the one I found looks to be lil smaller but would like hole(for cai) behind instead in front. While the lid may have more HP think this will clean up more of engine bay because radiator cover/lid is so bulky.Just like to be lil different and do things that will give "custom" look of ram air instead of what everyone else is doing. Not ordering yet trying to find one without hole but also wonder what everyone thinks. The k&n version was over 300 and this is 110 for intake w/filters and 110 for bmr polished rad. cover.

Personally, I think it looks alittle silly. A lid offers a nice clean look.

          the little look

          back to ram air

i guess it dont look bad, maybe even better, the wife said that the little air cleaner just dont look right for such a big motor.

also I was considering the volant (dual filter)but huge and expensive.I see some LT1 and LSX swaps use just filter (like ICEPICK) and like the look.trying to split to use openings in hood and get rid of all the plastic.thanks for input still in planning stages and thats why I put up here.

I would not use a dual filter setup like that if you still have your MAF, it will cause a bit ot turbulence going into the MAF since the merge between the two pipes in pretty close to where the MAF is located

Reminds me of the plastic spectre kits at Oreilly...they actually have a picture of an fbody bay on the back, where they've piped the intake all the way around under the headlights just to end up right where the lid is in front of the TB.

I like the look of a clear lid or maybe fipk.

I like how it has the little pcv filter there. Can you hear it suck in air more than a lid?

no because it doesn't lol lids have been proven over and over as a superior intake tract. The OP said that wasn't his concern though.

I like the idea of it

definitely cleans up the engine bay.

What lid did you have that looked bulky? I think lids look great in the engine bay already Specially if its painted to match like FRC's or something.
