Keep your lid, pull your baffles out of the hood nostrils and seal the inside of the hood to the front of the lid air intake.. That's what I ended up doing and I could sure tell the difference, especially at higher speeds... Really forces the air in..

already removed baffles and sealed lid (and also notice difference)but radiator cover/airbox is so bulky and those deep 4 holes in front to mount.was thinking of switching back to lid for track (3-4 times a year) and having dual for show.kinda see how this is going and thanks again for input!wish i could photoshop and see the blue T/A one has huge filters.sigpic

Ya, it's not my favorite :/
One big single filter looks best IMO.

I am actually one of the people that like the dual filter setup from a looks stand point. I say do it if you like it!!!!
It could be fabbed to draw from the front ducks in the hood if you cared. It makes the engine bay look cleaner and in a show it would score much higher then a factory style air box and lid. IMO the clear lids look silly. But like I have heard on here before to each their own. You build the car for you and not anyone else when it comes down to it.Last edited by BigJeffSS; October 6th, 2010, 08:30 PM.98 Camaro Z28

i really like that, probly wouldnt fit my hood but it does look good, i also got tired of all the dirt hitting the motor rather than the filter.sigpic

IMO it doesnt look good.
It is still not going to make the MAF happy with that merge, unless you have it retuned, but then still the air is never really going to be consistent. I would only do it if you have it retuned in speed density, but again I would not trust your tuner with a speed density tune

I really don't care for clear lids either and volant seems like bigger box but like dual filter set up but would like to curve out to use hood openings.Well looks like I'll have a challenge on my hands to make work (funtion/style).I'll use HPtuners to monitor MAF but running descreened and not to happy now if big problem might put MAF screen in tube as close to merge as possible to straighten air?Ryan are you against SD tuning or just my tuner?might try to mock up something to really see if I like our not.sigpic
