  • JB weld has no give to it, it either works or it cracks.

    • Yeh, JB weld has been (although I would never do it) used to weld cracks in cylinder heads.

        That's wonderful. Doesn't mean it's good for removing rattles.

        But it may be, will have to see how it turns out.

        • the noises my console makes are from two different pieces of plastic rubbing together. If they are welded together they shouldnt rub anymore!

          and brian that isnt an ash tray you big noob!!!

          edit: just checked on it, the JB weld worked exactly as planned. Annoyance level drastically reduced.

            Good. I was worried that the hard-hard interface that created may have caused a different kind of BSR.

            • Er duh, it's the cubby hole. My cubby hole and ash tray has been covered and converted into a switch plate for over a year - cut me some slack.

              • Just picked up the steel for making the seat brackets and a replacement interior piece from Tom!

                if anyone wants my interior piece with the holes drilled in it, it is free, come get!

                • Started fabrication on my seat brackets tonight. It may not look like it, but this is 3 hours worth of work so far

                  Hopefully this works and i dont have to go back to the drawing board...

                        • the C-channel is 1.5" x .5" i think. The flat stock is just 1/8" x 1"
