I thought TJ mentioned a while back that you had it configured incorrectly didn't know if that ever got resolved or what?Doing less with more

Darren its a modified factory bracket.
Jeff i had it configured correctly. Im not the only one to have the clearance issues. Jim birdie2000 had to do the same thing i am doing. It could very well be a simple matter of a difference in alternator cases, it wouldnt take much.-Joel

This picture shows the tab i had to trim and the bolt which is already trimmed down. The videos i posted earlier show the clearance issues but even after i modified the bracket to tuck the alt in further it was still hitting.

Did some more wrenching today. Got the relocation bracket modified and test fitted... everything seemed good! Until i noticed the pulleys on the backet were not lining up with the crank pulley
Long story short, I decided I'd had enough of this project for now. The spring weather is here, so I put the stock bracket back in with all the new hardware from the other bracket... new PS pump, new (significantly lighter) AC delete pulley, and and new tensioner. It is significantly quieter now and the steering wheel is easier to turn than it used to be, my old PS pump was definitely asking for help. Does anyone know if there is a place I can get the old one rebuilt? I'd like to keep a spare handy in case i ever toast one at the track.
Also, I skipped on the cooler for now. I am going to do a full fluid flush in a few weeks and hook up the cooler at that time. For now I can at least get it off the hoist so my dad can get some work done!-Joel

Some progress and anti-progress today. Got my front components installed. Holy crap they sound good, and the install was easier than i expected. Its clear to me that the dash is by far the best place for them, i hear the music 10x more clearly than when they were down by my leg. This stereo gets uncomfortably loud and I dont have an amp. Only downside is i broke my dashpad
. I was being extremely careful but it had previously cracked and been repaired twice before, i cant say i am too surprised. It exploded with the smallest hit. But i pressed on and installed it anyway cause what else are you going to do... still turned out pretty good. Eventually i'll find a new one to replace it.
In other news my brakes are totally fubar. Not sure what the deal is i have a brake light on the dashboard, a deadspace in the pedal and it feels like i lost 80% of my power assist. The reservoir is full of fluid.
Anyway, pics of the component install:

Put it up on the hoist quick this morning. Everything on the bottom of the car is dry, pads are in good shape, and fluid level looks good (it could take some more but its level with the plastic marker i assume is the operating level). Long story short it doesnt appear to be a leak.-Joel
