Help! low oil pressure and Check Gauges Light

Yikes! Sorry to hear your first experience with the car has been so poor.

Do you necessarily have to replace the block or can you just have it rebuilt?

I would like to rebuild/have it rebuilt but I wasnt sure it was worth it. Im all for rebuilding it, whatever gets it back on the road this summer

You could try talking to the following place- they rebuilt my motor for me for about $1200. You can buy a used LT1 and not know 100% the condition or you can spend the money to have someone rebuild it and know the bottom end has been freshened up.

I would suggest rebuild as well. Only reason I didn't for mine was because the car had such a huge cam in it and a lot of other aftermarket parts so was cheaper to buy a used motor and replace the gaskets and stuff on it.

haha i like how the mechanic always gets the blame. mechanic isnt responsible for bad parts.
that being said . the car most likely overheated due to driving it with a known oil pressure issue. the squeak is a spun rod bearing from a lack of oil

Thanks for the info. I just called them and he said $1600 and it would take him 10 days. Since this is all new to me I'm gonna keep digging and see what I can come up with, should use most of my monthly cell minutes up today. I'll keep them in mind while I figure out what to do.
